M- told us about this tourist attraction. She said everyone who goes to Portland goes to Voodoo Doughnut. It’s quite funny though, because she’s lived there for 10 years and she just recently went here for the first time. She went with W- and I to here for her second time.
I would suggest going to their website and deciding what you want because the menu is so tiny!
Yes, I have a clear picture of the menu, but you can’t read it when you are at the back of the shop!
Voodoo gets extremely popular apparently too!
I don’t know how true it is, but M- said that for all of the ten years she’s lived in Portland, she has yet to try half of the restaurants in the area. It shows how much variety of food Portland has to offer, and that is what I love about this city.
The next night, we all decided that we would try a different cuisine. M- loves Cuban food, so we decided to go to Pambiche. She said if she could, she’d eat here every single day. At first I thought she was crazy, but after trying their food, I am a new fan of Cuban food.
After having a delicious lunch at Dick’s Kitchen, we all decided that we were craving cupcakes. It was quite a coincidence really that we ate dessert here. What I have been doing lately before I go on these mini trips is look for a good cupcake or bakery in the area. The one I stumbled upon was Saint Cupcake. I didn’t tell M- that I wanted to go this place yet, but her friend C- was craving cupcakes and the place that we happened to go was Saint Cupcake.
This past holiday weekend was spent in Portland… Keep Portland Weird, as they say. I’ve done lots for having only been there for two days. When I say lots, I mean lots of eating. Yes, indeed. I was shown around by a Portland native of all the places she loves to eat at.
I had an early flight that Saturday morning and arrived at Portland around 10am. I was starving when I finally got to M-‘s house where I was staying for my time in Portland. After I got settled in, we were hungry. She named all these places that we can eat at, and we landed on Dick’s Kitchen first.
