You know that feeling when you wake up from a bad dream, that you just know … “Today is going to be a bad day.” Even though nothing terrible happened to me today, I felt like nothing good happened today. My dream just set the mood for the whole day. Whenever I get bad dreams, sometimes I think “why can’t I just not dream at all!?” That terrible dream where you are being chased for (what seems like) no reason just doesn’t put you in the right mood for a whole day at work.
I’ve enjoyed how much simpler my life in the kitchen has become ever since I got a stand mixer. I can multi-task whenever I need to mix something and not have to stand there. It’s such a simple tool, but so helpful. I’ve had this stand-mixer for over a year, but it still amazes me how I lived without it. My stand mixer came with the three usual attachments: paddle, whisk, and hook. I’ve used the first two numerous times, but I’ve never used the hook. I hear how tough it is to bake with yeast because you pretty much need to babysit the dough. However, D- encouraged me to finally make some bread with the hook.
Baking is a wonderful thing. I just love to do it. You get all the wonderful smells that spread throughout the house while something is baking. None of that fried smells you get from frying, say chicken, all evening. It’s also so easy!
I think the main reason I love to bake is because of the smells that come out from the oven… and when you pull out the treats from the oven the smell gets 100x better! I’m all about the lovely smells. It doesn’t have to be cookies or any dessert to smell great. Actual food can smell great too fresh from the oven!
Making a lot of sweets can be oh so much fun, but it’s nice to have a little break from all of the sugar. This is where these biscuits come in. I am a big fan of biscuits. Every time I go to a holiday dinner or a restaurant, I always have to have a piece of bread with my meal, especially if they’re fresh out of the oven.
I used to not like baking at night, just because I would hate to wash the dishes when I feel like just resting and watch a good movie. Now that I have made quite a few baked goods for work, where I had to make them in the evening, it’s not so bad. I’m just a little tired in the morning, but it can be done! I still prefer baking in the day so that I can much better pictures. What’s your preference? Baking in the morning or the evening?
